Researchers at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) are inviting people with lived experience of pulmonary fibrosis to take part in an online research workshop.
The study, is led by Kathy Rogers, Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing. Who is looking at how support could be improved for family members and friends caring for someone with pulmonary fibrosis at the end of life.
Following a review of existing research and interviews with bereaved family caregivers, Kathy has developed a set of recommendations for improving support. The next stage of the research will bring people together in online workshops to discuss these recommendations and help decide which should be prioritised.
The researchers would particularly like to hear from:
- People living with pulmonary fibrosis
- Family members and friends who support someone with pulmonary fibrosis
- Health and social care professionals involved in their care
The online workshops will take place in late September and early October 2026.
By bringing together a wide range of experiences and perspectives, the research team hopes to ensure that future recommendations reflect what matters most to people affected by pulmonary fibrosis.
