Pulmonary Fibrosis

When Breathing Becomes the Hardest Part of Life

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a devastating lung condition.
It scars the lungs.
It steals breath.
And there is currently no cure.

For many people, everyday tasks — walking upstairs, getting dressed, even laughing — can feel like running a marathon.

Pulmonary Fibrosis doesn’t stop after one day.
That’s why ongoing support matters.

  • Our Partners and Supporters:

Why This Run Matters

Running demands oxygen. Pulmonary Fibrosis takes it away. Every mile Nick runs is a powerful reminder of what people with PF fight for every single day — the ability to breathe.

This challenge is raising vital funds to help the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust (PFT):

  • Expand emotional support services so no one faces PF alone

  • Support research to improve understanding and future outcomes

  • Provide essential equipment and home adaptations like stairlifts and mobility aids

Nick's Story:

Nick Ashill is no stranger to extreme endurance.
But his toughest journeys haven’t just been physical.

In his forthcoming book, The Longest Run: A Story of Endurance, Trauma and Forgiveness Nick shares a raw, honest account of:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Physical injury and recovery

  • Loss, divorce and depression

  • Growth, healing and forgiveness

All proceeds from the book will support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust —turning personal pain into hope for others.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Doesn’t Take a Day Off

For people living with Pulmonary Fibrosis, every breath can be a struggle — every single day.
There is no cure. No pause. No easy moments.

A monthly gift means someone is there tomorrow.
And the day after that.
And on the days when breathing feels hardest.

Most supporters choose to give monthly, because Pulmonary Fibrosis doesn’t stop — and neither should care, understanding and hope.
