On 5 September 2026, endurance runner Nick Ashill will set off from John O’Groats, running all the way to Land’s End.

  • 34 Marathons

  • Over 30 days

  • One of the highest oxygen demand sports in the world

  • Nick will be 62 years old when he finishes

This run isn’t about records.
It’s about turning endurance into hope for people whose lungs are failing them.

Nick Ashill is no stranger to extreme endurance.
But his toughest journeys haven’t just been physical.

In his forthcoming book, The Longest Run: A Story of Endurance, Trauma and Forgiveness Nick shares a raw, honest account of:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Physical injury and recovery

  • Loss, divorce and depression

  • Growth, healing and forgiveness

All proceeds from the book will support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust —turning personal pain into hope for others.
