Supporting Research That Makes a Difference

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust supports research that helps improve the lives of people affected by pulmonary fibrosis. While we do not fund or lead pharmaceutical research into causes or treatments, we help raise awareness of opportunities to contribute to research and support projects that focus on improving everyday care and quality of life.

Our Focus

There is a great deal of medical research being carried out by pharmaceutical companies and research organisations into the causes and treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. As a small charity, our role is to help make people living with pulmonary fibrosis and their carers aware of opportunities to contribute to this important work.

We also support research projects that explore ways to improve how people live with pulmonary fibrosis. Areas we believe deserve continued research include:

Improvements to portable oxygen concentrators, helping people remain more active and independent.

Better monitoring of vital signs to improve understanding of pulmonary fibrosis and the challenges people experience.
