At the 2026 ILD-IN Annual Conference, held in Birmingham on 4–5 October, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust was proud to sponsor three awards recognising individuals making a difference within the ILD community.
Celebrating this year’s winners
Outstanding Contribution to the Interstitial Lung Disease Community – Mark Major
This award recognises individuals whose dedication has helped strengthen, support or advance the ILD community.
Rising Star in ILD – Victoria Elworthy
Celebrating early-career professionals who are making important contributions to ILD research, patient care and advocacy, and helping shape the future of the field.
Above and Beyond in ILD Care and Service – Hayley Fox
Perhaps particularly meaningful is that nominations for this award came directly from patients.
It recognises exceptional care and dedication from individuals or teams who have gone beyond expectations to support people living with ILD.
Hayley’s award was collected on her behalf by Gareth Owens.
Recognising research and innovation
Congratulations also go to Helen Morris, winner of the conference’s Best Poster Award, which was also collected on her behalf by Gareth Owens.
Living with pulmonary fibrosis or another interstitial lung disease can bring challenges that extend far beyond medical appointments.
The people who provide care, share knowledge, improve services and offer reassurance can make an enormous difference to patients and their families.
At the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, we understand the importance of that support. Recognising those who dedicate their working lives to improving ILD care is something we are delighted to be part of.
