Picnic in the Park 2022

Jess Sharp sadly lost her uncle Pip and her aunt Steph to pulmonary fibrosis and has been raising awareness by holding an annual event in her hometown called Picnic in the Park.

The Picnic was surprisingly a success. I say surprisingly due to the weather forecast! With thunderstorm warnings and potential rain all day, I was pretty much heart broken. A few stall holders cancelled and we had to cancel half of the fairground rides due to health and safety.

However, after a downpour of rain in the morning, the day was able to stay dry! Despite the weather people still turned up with gazebos, tents, brollies and it ended up being amazing.

I was also able to smash my targets on the fundraising, we had £1000 target on the raffle and we hit around £1200. Due to kind donations from stalls and visitors, we are currently looking at £2700 raised for the Trust. However we do still have some donations coming in. The other charity stalls that we have, they were able to raise around £2000 between them! The bands were amazing, I even joined one of them for a couple of songs! I have had non stop great feedback about how much everyone enjoyed it and so glad that they came! Even though the weather was terrible, the day was a massive success!

Thank you so much to all the people who donated.
