We were honoured to be chosen by pupils from class 9S3 at Y Pant School as part of the First Give programme.
The pupils researched pulmonary fibrosis, learnt about the support provided by PFT and found creative ways to raise awareness of a condition that remains unfamiliar to many.
The charity was selected by 14 year old Olivia, whose dad had been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Very sadly, Olivia’s dad has since passed away. We are incredibly grateful to Olivia for choosing to share a cause so close to her family and for helping more young people understand the impact pulmonary fibrosis can have.
Representatives from PFT were pleased to recognise the pupils’ achievement with a trophy presented to the class.
For a small charity like ours, having young people talking about pulmonary fibrosis makes a genuine difference. Their work has introduced the condition to a new audience and helped ensure that more families affected by PF feel seen and supported.
