Norman Jeffery sadly lost his battle with pulmonary fibrosis in June 2020 leaving behind his devoted wife, Jill.
Norman had always loved engineering and he really enjoyed tinkering with things as a hobby – everything from motorbikes to steam engines. He worked for many prestigious engineering firms in his career in a variety of roles and he also enjoyed all things aeronautical.
Norman always wanted to do a parachute jump but Jill had always been terrified of the thought of him jumping. At the age of 63, Jill is still terrified, but nevertheless, has decided to embark on a tandem skydiving fundraising jump from 15000ft. Jill feels that this fundraising effort would have made her “Norm” very proud of her and all being well, the jump will take place in May.
The photo above is of happier times of Norman and Jill on their Silver Wedding Anniversary. Jill misses Norman every day but this challenge has given her a new focus and one that she hopes will help recognise the support that the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust gave to Norman. It was, and still is, a comfort to Jill in her time of need.
Jill hopes that her challenge will help the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust to continue the great work it does.
