After suddenly losing her mum to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in January 2018, Amber Blackwell signed herself up for the Deal Half Marathon. Determined to raise funds for the PFTrust, Amber embarked on a gruelling training regime in June 2019 to prepare herself for the big day.
On the 1st March Amber successfully completed the half marathon in 2 hours and 19 minutes raising a wonderful £781.99! In a recent message, Amber wrote:
“It was great fun albeit it hard work and the last mile was definitely the hardest…. I was really chuffed as I ran the whole distance which I didn’t think I would be able to do. I got through the last bit by just telling myself in my head ‘I’m doing this for my mum’ on repeat and found the strength to carry on. I’m so grateful to everyone for all their encouragement and support for this fantastic charity. “
We would like to congratulate Amber on this wonderful achievement and extend our sincere thanks to all those who donated. Well done Amber!
