“I was deliberately hit at 50mph by a pickup truck on US Highway 40. The driver did not stop and left me in a ditch with horrific injuries to my legs and pelvis as well as internal injuries.”

“I lost my mum to the lung disease known as Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in 2015. Over 5000 people lose their battle with IPF every year in the UK. In the United States the number is 17000. Having been an endurance runner for many years I made the decision in late 2015 to run across the United States of America to raise awareness of the disease. I wanted to use the run to push myself physically and mentally and raise money for the UK charity Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust (PFT).“
“15 surgeries later I will be returning to the US at the end of May 2020 to finish my run. I will start on 27 May 2020 at the exact same spot I was hit and finish in New York about 3 weeks later. My dream to run across the US is still very much alive as is my quest to raise awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis.“
